Learn how to optimize your system so that loads are balanced, charging is efficient and important boat components function as they should. We will look at various vessel power consumption profiles, compare charging systems and discuss the appropriate battery systems for each. This introductory course will prepare you to make important decisions about updating or maintaining your electrical system.

As EPA Regulations and Fuel cost continue to change boating more and more manufacturers are considering the use of electrical and hybrid propulsion systems in boats. In this course we will take a look at a couple of electric propulsion systems as example repowers. Discuss the system requirements, voltage conversion and tooling for installation, and discuss the actual real world performance of these motors. We will also spend some time discussing the application of hybrid propulsion systems in several production boats and look at their performance characteristics.
