2011 J-22 Class Regatta on October 1st

Greetings fellow Alumni and 2nd year IYRS students,

This is to announce the date for our annual IYRS Alumni Association J22 Regatta:  Saturday, 1 October 2011

We will have a coordination meeting at Restoration Hall:  Thursday, 15 September--time to be announced later.

I hope to set an agenda for the meeting. Please forward to me any input for the meeting. Topics should benefit all Alumni to include the crop of new students in all three programs. Also state whether you'd like to address the group and for what purpose and whether you'd like to volunteer for any IAA duties.  Topics will, of course include: event costs and our available financial resources; registering as skipper and crew; boat assignments; whether we do an all-day or half-day event; Sail Newport support; race location; activities after the race; and we'll assign POCs as necessary so we can get everything done to make the regatta a memorable event.  Additional topics will include the website and possible social media outreach that could benefit our organization. Finally, let me know if you know someone who would make a great guest speaker on a subject of interest to us all.

So think about the part you want to play in your association. We are a talented bunch of men and women and I'm sure we can do a lot to make the IAA much more meaningful to each of us.

See you September 15th.  Oh, did I mention we'll have some cold beer and hot pizza!  Ah ha, now I have your attention!
