To facilitate contacts among the IYRS Alumni, we have established a network, with the largest and most popular social web based network services today. Also, web based networking is a means, to help connect with people outside IYRS, who share our interests and our activities and who are looking for a way, to interact with us, either as simple Friends or as Supporters and Fans.
Skeptics claim social web based networking, to alienate people, but we think, it gives us the opportunity, to come closer, to find out about each other and what we're doing and we firmly believe, it fortifies the bonds among the members of our community. It is not our intention to replace the interpersonal communication among our alumni, but we aim at using the net for informational and educational purposes, as well as, to promote our craft and our members professionally, through out all those interested.

This website is open to the public and here, we can Share our Projects and our Success Stories. Each alumnus can have a Profile page and a place in the Alumni Photo Gallery.
It hosts an Events List and its content is about Boat Building and Restoration, Boat Racing and Regattas, Woodworking, Maritime Heritage, Marine Industry and everything within the range of interests of our alumni. A Job Hunting section is currently under development.
The Blog is linked to the website and has similar content, plus an option to share alumni short announcements and news. It is open to the public and anyone can subscribe to either Posts or Comments, using one of the popular RSS Feed Readers, such as My Yahoo, i-Google, Msn start, Bloglines, iTunes, Firefox Live Bookmarks etc
Last but not least, it offers an option, to link to it and/or share individual posts, on your favorite social network, such as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Delicious etc.
This is the base account in Facebook and anyone can be Friends with us. Here we can share information regarding upcoming events, feedback on past events, to RSVP to an event etc. This page is open to the public, for anyone, who wishes to be part of our activities. This is a closed to the public Group, for IYRS Alumni only, with an exception of students, who have attended one full academic year in IYRS and had to drop out for some reason, but still wish, to stay in touch with our community.
All members of the Group have access to the Discussion Board and can post messages to the Group Wall, photos, videos and links, which are only visible to other members of the Group. All requests for new members are subject to approval and in conformity to our guidelines.
Using the Utube facility, we are aiming to enhance contacts between fellow IYRS Alumni, to allow the IYRS Alumni, to interact with each other and with fans outside IYRS, who share the same passion with us, be it wood working and wooden boats, be it sailing and racing, be it maritime tradition and heritage.
